What My Friend Says About Visual Latin

You know how my family feels about Visual Latin because of Veni, Vidi, Velcro.
I recently posted on Pursuing What Is Excellent’s Facebook page offering 10 free Visual Latin lessons to my page’s “Likers”.

My friend, Sheila jumped at the chance to do the lessons.

I’d like to share her review with you:

Recently a friend posted a recommendation for Visual Latin on her blog. Since I was trying to decide on a foreign language for my two middle school children, I decided to try it. I have been so pleased. The kids actually worked on it during the last couple of weeks of the school year. I thought it would be the perfect time for a “test drive”. When I asked my school-a- phobic son what he thought of it, he said, “For school work it’s better than the other stuff we’ve tried.” That may not sound like much to you, but that’s the equivalent of “Mom, I love it” for him.

The lessons break down very simply. There are three separate videos to watch with worksheets interspersed to emphasize each part. The teacher, Dwane, is fun and engaging. Each video takes about 5-10 minutes, and the additional resources are so helpful. Everything is easily printed up on the computer, and the children enjoy having someone else teach.

I would highly recommend this program to others. It is simple and effective, just what this homeschool mom needs.
