What Does It Appear To Be?

You’ve seen them..the Facebook status updates from some friends that leave you scratchin’ your head. “What secret message is going around now?” I think.
The first one that I saw going around was the whole bra color thing. I can only answer for myself (and a few others that I know well) when I say that I chose not to post my bra color because that’s something for my husband alone to know. Its under my clothes, thus belonging under covers…my marriage bed.
Next there was a rather cute one that gave different phrases according to your birth month, date, etc. The content of the statuses went something like (example)…”I ran over my science teacher with big bird riding a motorcycle because I’m cool like that.” Harmless, right? I figured mine out just to see what it would be. Mine was about me having lunch with some guy (surfer or something) on the back of a motorcycle because I’m sexy like that.
Needless to say, I didn’t post it. It would be foolishness for me to say (even though not true) that I was having lunch with a man other than my husband.
Today’s newest one is the most repulsive I’ve seen yet. The connotation of it is a sexual act. REALLY? I will not take the space to type it here. If you want to know what it is, email me.
Here are just a few verses of what God’s Word says about how I am to live my life on a daily, continual basis concerning my marriage and the things of this world:

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Romans 12:1-2

Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
Ephesians 4:29

11 The heart of her husband safely trusts her; so he will have no lack of gain.12 She does him good and not evil all the days of her life.
Proverbs 31:11-12

2 Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. 3 Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. 4 The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
1 Corinthians 7:2-4

to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.
Titus 2:5

I endeavor to protect my marriage with all tenacity and fervor! Don’t mess with me and my man!! Yeah, I know that was improper grammar, but, whatever!

Describing something in a FB status that can and WILL be viewed in a sexual way that is not spoken toward my husband is a NO-NO!
Anyone that is a friend of mine on FB knows that I give my husband his props and it has gotten heated (by his comments)on several occasions. He eats it up. Whatever I do post is only edifying in that way to/for him; no other man or the appearance thereof.

My marriage, as is yours, is sacred. Not to be marred by innuendo.

Father, I ask that You will continually help me to watch what I see, say, hear and post. Let every word that comes from me only be used to edify You, my husband, children, family, friends, and strangers. My life is to be lived out to be a shining light and example that reflects You! In Jesus’ Name I pray. AMEN!
