The Praying Womans Devotional by Stormie Omartian

Stormie Omartian is one of the first women that revolutionized my way of thinking and praying for my husband, children, and the world around me.

With a word from God and Scripture to back up every prayer written out, battle was waged and lives are changed!
Reviewing her newest book, The Praying Woman’s Devotional, was a joy!

“In this book you will find examples of how to pray for your life and the lives of those around you,
as well as for your world and the things you care about most.
You will learn what God asks us to do with regard to prayer and how we should respond to His direction.
You will be reminded of the ways God wants you to pray and why.”
 –from the introduction

The devotions are short, to the point, and packed with God’s Word.
Its great for when I need a deep, quick “pick-my-spirit-up”.

True to form, Stormie includes a prayer, based on Scripture, to pray back to God.
They’re filled with purpose and directness.

If you’ve read any of Stormie Omartian’s books before, this book would probably feel more like a refresher and continuation from her other writings.

I can’t pick an absolute favorite devotion of the collections in the book, but one that spoke so sweetly to me is “God is Near When We Pray”.

“We pray to a living and responsive God who loves us and wants to be an active part of our lives.”
