In asking God to meet me where I am in negative emotions, frustration,
moodiness, and troublesome thoughts, He redirects my heart and says,
“I’m already there. Humble yourself and meet Me where you are.”
Like David asked his soul in Psalms 42 & 43, I get to question my soul
and do some self-encouragement.
I get to remind it Whom my help, hope, and salvation comes from.
Why are you in despair, O my soul?
And why are you restless and disturbed within me?
Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall again praise Him,
The help of my [sad] countenance and my God. (AMP)
While I’m hopefully waiting in expectancy to hear God’s reply, I search out Scripture to further encourage me and to rightly prepare my heart for what’s next.
Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
Point out anything in me that offends You,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
Psalm 139:23-24
One of the awesome things about being God’s child is that we
get a seek-first-the-kingdom-of-God choice in how we respond to
negative emotions, frustration, moodiness, and troublesome thoughts.
To renew your mind is to dig up all the old lies, untruths, perceptions and fears and to replace them with God’s truth, hope, life, grace and fullness.

I haven’t fooled myself into thinking that old lies and perceptions won’t ever pop up again, but being confident that I have the choice (and desire) to make the exchange for what God has is all I need!
Next time you want God to meet you where you are, remember that He is already there. Humbly meet Him where He is and get a new perspective; His perspective.
Living to Worship Him,
Kela
