Keep Knocking On the Word

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
Hebrews 4:12 NLT

One of my favorite things to say is, “We can never exhaust the Word of God.”
There’s always ALWAYS more to learn from the Word! As long as we’re living, we’ll never have this life figured out. That’s where the Word comes to our rescue and Holy Spirit instructs us through the Word. “Arrival” is not the objective. Wisdom is!

There is no way for me to advance in life without the guidance of Holy Spirit.
The majority of the time it looks like putting my eyes to the paper of Scripture and let it infuse my whole being
.

But let’s also talk about when carving out the time seems difficult…or, eh hmmm, when it’s not made a priority.

I can sit at my desk with my Bible open ALL.DAY and not even turn to a new passage to read. Sure, I’ll tap play on a sermon and listen, but not fully engage with it.
By “engaging”, I mean to flip through the pages to read the living Word that the preacher has just instructed me to turn to!

I’m missing out on encounters with God. And that ain’t cool!
But praise be to God, He isn’t condemning me which allows me to not put shame on myself.

I have gotten to the point that I catch it quickly, correct, and return my gaze toward Jesus.

Spending time in the Word should be non-negotiable.

Now that that’s out in the open, lets discuss knocking on the Word!

It’s what I do when I need refreshment (Jeremiah 31:25), godly perspective (Psalm 139:1-6) , protection (Psalm 32:7), attitude change (Psalm 51:10), instruction (2 Timothy 3:16), forgiveness (1 John 1:9) , comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3-4, Psalm 91) , strength (Matthew 11: 28-30, 2 Corinthians 4),  freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17, Galatians 5) , love, peace, joy (all that fruit!!!!!) (Galatians 5:16-26), and a fresh rhema word as God lays open His wisdom.

if we don't see the WordWe can’t knock on the Word if we don’t SEE the Word

Now time for some real talk.
If we’re born again Christians. Like, for real, Christ-followers, there is no way that we can expect to walk victoriously through this life without Him!

These days are not the days to put Him on the shelf, throw up a quick prayer and just hope for the best.
The best is found in time spent with Him.
Buckle up, Saints. No more are the days of trying to get by on one dose of the Word that comes at you one day of the week.
We can’t prepare for battle like that.
The first place the enemy attacks is our time, then our minds. That stronghold latches on and we can’t expect to win with one morsel a week.

I won’t apologize or shrink back when I know that the enemy’s game is strong and ours is so weak most of the time.

Get together with some friends and discuss the Word. Let’s get a grip on this faith walk and hold on like our lives depend on it! Take the stand.
Let’s keep knocking on the Word!

Living to Worship Him,
