I’ll openly admit it… I knew almost absolutely NOTHING about Winston Churchill! That is until I read Winston Churchill: Christian Encounters Series by John Perry.
Since we are a homeschool family, I thought that it would be a great chance to review a book heralding the accomplishments and faith of Winston Churchill.
The size of the book makes for a very easy read (158 pgs.) and its great as an overview of Winston Churchill’s life.
From the onset, possible scandal was introduced as to how Mr. Churchill entered this world. That basically set the tone for how I viewed the rest of the book. There would have been more questions if my children read the book than I’m willing to answer at this time. I immediately decided that only the adults here would be reading it.
This biography isn’t all bad. Not all of history is pretty. Winston Churchill’s successes were highlighted well. I don’t think that this book will particularly change anyone’s view of Winston Churchill.
