When you hear the word, “Holiness”, do you think that its something too lofty to obtain?
Do you think that its only for a few goody-goody Christians to live by?
My friend, if holiness wasn’t a call from God for ALL of His children, He wouldn’t have said, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
God didn’t single out a select few to holiness. He’s given us everything that we need to choose holiness.
Sister, none of us will ever arrive to a place of perfect holiness on this side of heaven, but we do need to see to it that its what we’re striving toward.
I was more than elated to start the Bible study, Embraced by Holiness: The Path to God’s Daily Presence by Kathy Howard.
After only getting a week into it, I know that I definitely want to study alongside other women; be it online or face to face…or even put together a Google+ hangout group.
What are your thoughts on that?
Holiness is for our good and God’s glory.
God calls us to holiness so we can be set free from the bondage and consequences of our own sin. God also knows that a holy life paves the way for deep intimacy with Him (Psalm 15:1-2). Holiness sets us free and draws us close to God!
Holiness in God’s people also brings Him glory. When we live holy lives we reflect God’s character to the world. We become lights in a dark world that lead the way to the Savior.
Holiness. For our good. For God’s glory.
Are you ready to begin the journey toward a holy life? What misconceptions or obstacles have held you back in the past?
Do you long for deeper intimacy with your heavenly Father?
According to Scripture, a close connection exists between living
a holy life and experiencing God’s presence.
Sin strains our relationship with God and creates distance,
but holiness breaks down barriers and moves us ever closer.
Embraced by Holiness: The Path to God’s Daily Presence, the new 6-week study by Kathy Howard,
practically explores why believers should pursue holiness and how living a holy life will draw us into the circle of our holy God’s loving embrace.
About the Author:
Kathy Howard calls herself a “confused southerner.” Raised in Louisiana, she has moved with her engineer husband around the U.S. and Canada. She says “pop” instead of “Coke” and “you guys” as often as “ya’ll.” But those things are just superficial – she’s still a southern girl at heart!
Kathy helps women live an unshakeable faith for life by encouraging them to stand firm on our rock-solid God no matter the circumstances of life. The author of six books, including four Bible studies, Kathy has a Masters in Christian Education and a certificate in women’s ministry. She has been teaching the Bible for over 25 years and speaks regularly at women’s retreats and events.
Kathy and her husband live in the Houston area and have three children, a son-in-law, and one precious grandson. When the family gets together there are also five dogs in the mix. Find out about her books and speaking ministry and get discipleship tools and leader helps at her website: www.kathyhoward.org.
