Christmas Party Friday!

Photobucket

Christy (a.k.a. Critty Joy) is hosting the fabulous Christmas Party Friday every week in December.
This week’s theme is favorite Christmas holiday recipes.
I’ll admit that I’m very spoiled in this area in that I generally don’t have to cook on Christmas because my mom and mother-in-law dote on our family.
The spread always includes (from both homes):
Turkey, Ham, Sweet Potatoes, Green bean Casserole, Collard Greens, Macaroni and Cheese (the kind my momma makes!), Dressin’ (not stuffing), Cornbread, Mashed Potatoes, and a plethora of other food.
I do pace myself!!
I DO however have things that I enjoy making for Christmas get-togethers with friends. THOSE are the recipes that I’ll share.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Diced or Shredded Chicken breast
1/2 c Ranch
1/4 to 1/2 Franks Wing Sauce
1 block cream cheese
8 oz mozzarella cheese
Cook Chicken and dice or shreds
Spread Cream cheese on bottom of baking dish
Then spread Ranch
Mix wing sauce and chicken together then spread
Add Mozzarella to top

Cover with Foil (don’t forget this, it makes a difference)
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Serve with Tortilla Chips.

Broccoli Salad

2 bunches broccoli, florets only (5 to 6 cups florets)
1 medium red onion, chopped
1/2 cup raisins
10 to 12 slices bacon, fried and crumbled

Dressing:
1 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 teaspoons sugar

Separate florets from broccoli stalks. Combine salad ingredients; top with dressing mixture. Chill and serve.

…and the simplest dessert I think that I’ve EVER made that is a fave throughout the year:

APPLE PANDOWDY!!!

2 cans Apple Pie Filling (or Strawberry or Blueberry)
1 Box Yellow Cake Mix
Melted Butter or Margarine to drizzle on top.
Pour cans of pie filling into 9×13 dish. Sprinkle cake mix on top, covering all the fruit. Drizzle plenty of butter or margarin over cake mix.
Bake in 350 degree oven until golden brown.
Serve with Vanilla Ice Cream.

You’ve probably seen all of these recipes. Re-introduce them. If you haven’t seen these recipes, add them to your collection.
Happy Cooking!
