31 Days To Clean~Week 2

Homemakers Challenge - 31 Days to Clean

This marks week 2 of the HOMEmaker’s Challenge: 31 Days to Clean by Sarah Mae, hosted by Christin of Joyful Mothering.

This was a “meaty” week. I like that!

Here’s a peak at what our day’s were like:
Day 6 ~ The Six List
Day 7 ~ The Curse (What We’re Up Against)
Day 8 ~ Overcoming the Curse
Day 9 ~ Confronting Laziness
Day 10 ~ Feeling Overwhelmed
I want to hit on the day/days that influenced me the most or that I can give more input on.

Those days for me were Days 7-8. Did you guess that before I even typed it out?

The Curse and Overcoming the Curse!

I enjoy living a victorious life. That means that there is NO room for the Curse.

WHAT IS the curse as it pertains to 31 Days to Clean?
“Everything is heading toward decay and we are striving against it. No matter how many loads of laundry we do, there will always be dirty clothes. No matter how many times we clean the kitchen, for as long as we live it will get messy again. Work is not the Curse, unproductive work is.”
Our Mary Challenge for Day 7 was to read Romans 8:20-21: “For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered  from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
What is the hope in the Curse?

Creation itself will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God!!!

How do we overcome the Curse while we dwell on the earth? We must keep our eye on the eternal value of our work.

We must determine to stay on task.

In order for me to do that, I have to get over what the next day holds…Confronting laziness.

My friend, Belinda Letchford, of Live Life With Your Kids, wrote an EXCELLENT article, Am I Lazy? I highly recommend and encourage you to read it…and her other posts. She is a wise woman!

There is something that I have to admit/confess: I don’t clean my kitchen. Our 2 oldest daughters alternate weeks and they do a fantastic job! I continue to let them.

One day that I looked forward to was Day 10: Feeling Overwhelmed.
Sarah Mae had us envision the big picture for our home.

What’s YOUR big picture? What is the first step to getting there?
Many other women have chimed in on this challenge. Visit the hub [HERE] and read what they have to say about their week. You may get some ideas or enlightenment.
