Where is My Motivation?

I know that I’ve been lax in blogging when one of my friends, Angela, emails me to check on me! I mentioned to her that maybe I should do a “I’m still here” kinda post.
I was just telling one of my other dear friends, Traci Michele, that I have so many things floating around in my heart that I can’t pin it down or even know where to start.
The picture above rightly describes my state of mind right now. A heap of bright ideas that aren’t shining YET.
I do know a few things:

  • God’s Word is speaking to me
  • I’m still on my journey of learning more about prayer (I’m reading Too Busy Not to Pray by Bill Hybels)
  • I’m spending more shoulder-to-shoulder and heart-to-heart time with my husband
  • Playing more games with my children
  • Getting REALLY serious about my children’s education

I guess my time is being invested more in my family; which is what I want and need. Not that my family was being totally neglected before, but my time is just a little more focused.

You may be wondering why I have a photo of clothes in a closet. Well, forget about the clothes and I’ll focus on the closet. Yep…you got it. Prayer closet.

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
Matthew 6:6

I’d like to share a couple of things that I’m learning (adding to my knowledge) about prayer:

  • God is not my buddy (my friend, yes). He’s the Sovereign God! Knowing this makes me want to bow down before Him.
  • God’s power is released when I pray.
  • Prayer (which includes listening to God) opens the door for God to reveal more of Himself to me.

My journey continues and I know will never end. I’m thankful that God speaks to me. I’m waiting for Him to speak to me in terms of what to post/blog. I’m guessing that this is one post that He directed me to write.
Time to go back to the prayer closet. Until next time,
May God abundantly bless you!!

    Kela girl,

This was great! Oh how refreshed we are when we sit before His Feet! I like what you said about God not being your buddy! It reminds me of how people refer to God as the “man upstairs”. I really cringe cringe cringe whenever I hear people refer to my SAVIOR like that, don’t you!

Oh yes, he is my dearest friend. But more importantly my Sovereign, Abba Father, like you said! Keep seeking HIM first and carrying a notebook!

Oh, and have you gone for a drive yet? hehe

    Hugs,
    Traci

Girl!!! I love that! God is NOT my buddy. You are so right. That makes ME want to fall prostrate before Him and cry at His feet for not putting Him in the place He needs to be!

Much love to ya my favorite sista! 🙂

ps..thanks for the text the other day. It brightened my day!

I, too, can relate to the light bulb picture. I have a lot of stuff swirling around in my mind. Now to just get them all down on paper! 🙂

Hope you’re having a great day!

Yes, dear girl you need to focus on your precious family first.  This Ozarks farm chick has found that blogging is very time consuming.  I am down to writin’ about a post a week.  Life is busy.  We have a large woring farm, blessed with eight grandchildren, active in chruch where I teach a pre~teen Sunday School class and am the Kid’s Chruch director.  I am a retired Special Ed. instructor with no time on my hands.

If God gives you the nudge to take a little blogtime off and spend more time with Him and your Fam. just rest in His presence and follow His lead.

Take care and as we say here in the hills and hollers of the Missouri Ponderosa, “ya’ll have a wonderfully blessed day!!!

  • Kela

I haven’t taken that drive yet. LOL But I am finding a little more quiet spaces throughout the day to chill, read (God’s Word and other authors that are really challenging me), journal and pray.

  • Kela

Thank you Nezzy! You have a wonderfully blessed day too!!

  • Amen girl!!! I often wonder if people actually bow down before Him anymore to pray…. Sometimes I even feel like He’s waiting for me to bow to pay attention. (which I know He’s not) but I think people fail to remember that he’s not ‘the buddy’ He’s not my equal. He is all powerful, all knowing and deserves (demands) our respect and obedience as we honor and worship Him. After all, that’s what we were designed to do! 🙂 Here lately, I’m getting rug burns on my knees! lol I’m glad you came out of the closet long enough to post! (and say hi!) xoxo

  • I can hear the *hush* and it’s awesome! Sounds like the perfect priorities in your life, which will result in POWERful posts, because His powerful Spirit is filling *you*. Praying God’s blessings on you as you move into the prayer closet and get closer to your family:)

  • I have taken time away from blog in times past to refocus on what really matters. Keep listening to Him and He will guide you. xo
