Called to Prayer

“The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much." -James 5:16

God has used me for years in praying for others. It wasn't until last year that I truly felt that prayer is a calling on my life. I'm more than honored to be in this Kingdom role. It's a privilege to be called to the "behind the scenes" duty.

As I study prayer I want to develop this page to 1) honor God with this awesome opportunity He's trusted me with, and 2) share resources that is helping me through this journey...a journey that will take me through the rest of my lifetime.

I'll never exhaust God's Word when it comes to any subject; especially prayer!

I like what
Elizabeth George says about praying in her book, A Woman's Call to Prayer,

"We just don't arrive one day at the point where we can mark "learn to pray" off our to-do list....No, none of us prays enough. None of us prays as fervently as we would like to pray or should pray. None of us prays for as many people as need to be prayed for."

There is ALWAYS something and someone to be prayed for and about.

Prayer; an open communication between us and God is the most powerful tool to moving things on this earth and in heaven.
Take comfort that God hears His children's prayers.
Don't take one moment to pray for granted.

From where you are:

If you're just starting your Christian walk, congratulations! Let's get to work.
If you've known God for some time and haven't prayed like you know you should, start today.
If you're a Christ-follower and are a prayer, keep it up!

Throughout the year of 2013 I want to share

  • specific prayers
  • how to pray God's Word
  • things I'm learning about prayer
  • how to pray this point I'm sweating!! I cannot believe that I just typed that! That was God! Not me!

Buckle up, my friends and let's watch God work. Oh boy!
"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways," says the Lord, "for as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."  -- Isaiah 55:8-11
