My Oldest Son…He Notices!

I am so blessed to have a son (11 y/o) that notices what is NOT modest. In our home, we strongly stress the proper way that a young woman should act, dress and carry herself. With two older sisters, our son sees this modeled well.
Our daughters will not go anywhere near anything that would be questionable. I am thankful that modesty isn’t a battle that we have to fight.
Here is an example of my thankfulness:
My son went to ride bikes with his friends. There is a girl that likes one of my son’s friends. She decided that she wanted to hang out with them.
No sooner than my son left home, that he came back. I asked him why he was back so soon. He told me that the girl was around and their is something about her that’s different and that he doesn’t like, so he decided not to hang with them.
HALLELUJAH!!! My son is not enticed by a girl that shows her flesh to get attention. I know that he is still young, which is another reason to shout “hallelujah”. That gives us more opportunity to instill deeper the things of God for his life.

My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent.
Proverbs 1:10

Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, and the years of your life will be many. I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in right paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hindered, and when you run, you will not stumble. Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; keep her, for she is your life.
Proverbs 4:10-13
