God and Passion

Today’s post will be few in words, but rich in context (in my opinion).

I was talking with my husband last night about this subject: Passion.

I posed this question: “The passion that God designed a husband and wife to have and enjoy while making love, do you think that that’s a small glimpse of how He wants to demonstrate His passion for us?”

Think about it…why else would He design the human body with all of those hormones, nerves and senses if that wasn’t for us to experience a heightened sense?

He fashioned ALL of it in His perfectness; before the fall and sin entered the world that perverted the sexual relationship.

What are your thoughts on this?

  • Yes I do.
    Period.

He always give us an example in the natural as to what He ultimately planned for us in the spiritual. And the intimacy of “knowing” our spouse is the same type of “knowing” He wants to have with us. (Obviously this is on a spiritual level and not physical).

  • Wow! Very insightful. Gives me something to ponder. Thanks, Kela!

  • Never thought of it that way… I think that marriage is a picture of Christ and the Church, so yeah, maybe?!

  • It’s a great picture. The way we’re designed to fit together really shows how thoughtful God is about our intimacy and how He takes pleasure in us being what we’re made to be. Intimacy with the Lord is sweetest when there isn’t sin between us, just like intimacy with our spouse is sweetest when we let the Lord rule each of us.

This was a great thought and question to share on Marriage Mondays. Thanks, Kela!

  • I think you are absolutely right on here Kela!
Marriage is meant to be a symbolic image of the Holy Trinity…the love of the Father and the Son and the Spirit. In fact, I believe that every good, holy, and wholesome pleasure on earth is meant to be a “glimpse” (as you so rightly put it)into Our Creator’s heart and into His heavenly kingdom. I think the world underestimates the true beauty and sacredness of the marriage bed.
Thanks for sharing a bit of it with us today:)

  • oh great thoughts! Glad to know that he had us in mind, isn’t it?! not some random thing!
    hugs & prayers!

  • God’s Word in Mark 10:8 states that: “…and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one.” That is a perfect parallel to our lives in Christ! He desires that intimacy with us so we are one with Him. What a blessing that He lives in us and us in Him!
