He Instructed Me to Eat

He said to me: “Son of man, eat what you find here. Eat this scroll, then go and speak to the house of Israel.” So I opened my mouth, and He fed me the scroll. “Son of man,” He said to me, “eat and fill your stomach with this scroll I am giving you.” So I ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth.
Ezekiel 3:1-3

One of my favorite passages in the Bible!
Not only did God tell Ezekiel to eat the scroll, but GOD FED IT TO HIM!

The taste is like none other! Like the sweetness of honey!
God’s Word isn’t something to be “stomached” like taking a nasty medicine.
No, it’s the very thing that gives us life and hope and beauty!

Reading the Bible is the main way that God feeds me, but another beautiful way that God feeds me His Word is through the fellowship with other believers; those that hear from God through His Word and love to share of His goodness in it!

I want to challenge you to make it a point to dine at God’s table and allow Him to feed you just as He did Ezekiel! Can you get the visual of what that will be like?
Then take what He’s fed you and spread it out for your brothers and sisters in Christ. Break spiritual and physical bread together. Spread the honey on and eat some more!
