Come. Take. Learn.

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
~Matthew 11:28-30 (emphasis added)

My Part:

  • Come to God (when I labor and am heavy laden).
  • Take His yoke.
  • Learn from Him.

God’s Part:

  • Give me rest for my soul

God Offers:

  • A Gentle and lowly in heart.
  • An Easy yoke.
  • A Light burden

The kind of rest that only God can give.

Rest is the absence of worry or anxiety and the presence of a confidence in our future.
~ Phillip McCart

One of our Pastors, Phillip McCart, shared about REST. He emphasized the first three words in Matthew 11:28, COME TO ME.

Can you hear your Daddy (Abba, Father) saying that to you?
He wants so much for you to find rest in Him!

In the next verse, 29, God bids us not only to take His yoke, but to learn from Him.
Learn what? Learn that He is gentle and lowly in heart.
He wants us to live/be (that’s an action verb, folks.) the same way.

He wants me; He wants you to trade our burdens and our labor for the rest that He GIVES for our souls.

Embrace the rest that God offers. Surrender.
~Phillip McCart

Take the time to listen to Phillip’s message. I’m sure you’ll find more things that you need to surrender than you may realize. You’ll be blessed.

Before leaving this post, I want to encourage you to pray Psalm 91 over your day.

Abide. Dwell. Find refuge in. Trust God. REST!
